The Peace Pole Project
Peace poles are four sided pillars with the words “May Peace Prevail on Earth” on each side in a different language. There are more than 200,000 Peace poles in 180 countries, serving as constant reminders to visualize and to pray for world peace.
Peace poles are “planted” any place that people wish to dedicate to peace, such as town squares, universities and schools, parks, gardens and houses of worship.
Creating a joyful Peace Pole dedication ceremony is a wonderful way to get a whole community to work together for peace on Earth.
We urge you to plan a peace event on September 21, the UN-designated International Day of Peace. Some of the projects we are planning are outlined at http://www.worldpeace.org/peaceday.html.
